I was catching up on some old Rolling Stone magazines the other day and read John Fogerty’s comment about the rest of CCR not being interested in a reunion. He said they may still be mad about who knocked over a salt shaker 47 years ago. That may have been a figure of speech he was using, and it may not have actually been a salt shaker. But he made his point clear.
That’s the kind of thing I’m talking about in my song “Stupid little things.” It’s paradoxical that we often can cope with life’s major disasters, but a minor irritation might just send us over the edge.
And it’s a crying shame that something so trivial should keep one of the greatest rock bands of all time from getting back together. But we all too often let these insignificant annoyances get the best of us.
